In last hous, Juan Manuel Barrial has resigned as the head coach of Indykpol AZS Olsztyn following a very poor performances in 2024/25 PlusLiga.
The Argentinian coach, who took the helm in June replacing his compatriot Javier Weber, leaves the team struggling at 14th place out of 16, with only one win (against Stal Nysa in Round 5) in six matches.
For now, former player and long-time assistant coach Marcin Mierzejewski has stepped in as interim coach.
His departure marks the first coaching change in the PlusLiga this season.
Of course the club is actively seeking a new head coach, with several interesting speculation about potential candidates, including Emanuele Zanini, the current coach of Belgiumâs national team.
Another name is Igor JuriciÄ, who leads Croatiaâs national team and previously managed Trefl GdaĹsk until the end of last season.
With three teams set for relegation at seasonâs end, the pressure is on Indykpol AZS Olsztyn to reverse their season quickly.
