Austria: all results of Round 4 – Hypo Tirol and Ried to the top! Waldviertel ko and the others…

Round 4 of 2024/25 Powerfusion VL Men has been completed
today with all 5 scheduled games.
Last season’s runners-up TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg defeated UVC Holding Graz in a thrilling Styria derby away with the score of 3-2 (21:25, 25:23, 25:21, 22:25, 19:17) and celebrated their third win of the season at the Raiffeisen Sportpark. Lukas Glatz scored 28 points for the winnee in front of around volleyball 1,000 fans, like Arwin Kopschar for the home team. The second best scorers were Dorde Knezevic (Hartberg) and Nils Arvay (Graz) with 24 points each.
After winning first set, Graz wasted a 22:17 lead in the second one and, with five points in a row, head coach Markus Hirczy’s team managed to level the score, bringing them back into the game. The tie-break was not for the faint-hearted, as Hartberg led 14:12, and then Graz scored three points in a row before surrendering 17-19.
SK Zadruga Aich/Dob needed only three sets (25:23, 25:19, 25:22) in Klagenfurt to prevail against the hosts Kelag Wörther-See-Löwen. The third-placed Lower Carinthians now have eleven points, while the last-placed team lost 0-3 for the fourth time. Top scorers of the game were Carlos Charles Santana (14) and Noel Krassnig (13) for the winners, and Simon Frühbauer (12) and Ben Stockhammer (10) for Klagenfurt.
Defending Champions and league leaders HYPO TIROL volleyball team celebrated another victory, leaving no chances to newcomers Sportunion z+p St. Pölten, 3-0 (25:18, 25:20, 25:21). Across all competitions, it was already the twelfth win of the season for the Innsbruck side! Kyle Hobus (15) led the winners together
with Niklas Kronthaler (9), while Aidan Saladana scored 11 points for St. Pölten.
Hypo Tirol shared the top with UVC McDonald’s Ried, who defeated Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel in just three sets (25:18, 25:22, 25:17), led by Markus Berger, who contributed with 12 points to the victory, and Boris Zhukov, who added 11. The hosts’ top scorers were Zachary Palankai-Omoshebi (15) and Paul Nusterer (9).
TJ Sokol V/Post SV Vienna celebrated their first victory of the season after a 3-1 (23:25, 30:28, 25:15, 25:20) success against VCA Amstetten NÖ in their home arena, overtaking the Mostviertler and rising to sixth place.
