After two games of Pool A played yesterday, 2024/25 CEV Champions League Pool Stage continued today with other 7 games.
In Pool B, Fenerbahçe Medicana Istanbul won in straight sets in Germany, on the field of Helios Grizzlys Giesen, 0-3 (23:25, 23:25, 22:25). The hosts fought, but eventually have to admit the defeat against a Turkish powerhouse led in score by Denis Karyagin, top scorer of the game with 16 points through 56% in attack, 1 ace and 1 block, and Drazen Luburic, who added 14.
On the same Pool, tomorrow, Italy’s Mint Vero Volley Monza will welcome Greece’s Olympiacos Piraeus.
In Pool C all easy for Plisliga’s vice-champions Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, who trampled over Austria’s Hypo Tirol Innsbruck 3-0 (25:21, 25:19, 25:16) without major problems with 10 winning blocks, 15 points from Kyle Ensing (61% in attack and 1 block), and 10 from Aaron Russell. 15 points also for Kyle Hobus, the only player in double digit for Austrian Champions.
On the same Pool, in first game ever played by Allianz Milano in Champions League, the hosts from Italy performed an amazing comeback after being 0-2 down against Belgium’s Knack Roeselare, eventually winning the game with the score of 3-2 (21:25, 21:25, 25:23, 25:22, 16:14).

Great protagonist of Milano’s comeback Olympic Gold medalist Yacine Louati, who started from the bench and made the difference with a collection of great points. 21 points for him at the end of the match including 3 winning blocks, 69% in attack and MVP award. His teammate Ferre Reggers also contributed with 23, while 30 points from Seppe Rotty (2 aces, 4 winning blocks and 59% in attack) and 23 from Basil Dermaux were not enough for Roeseare, who suffered the rivals’ comeback.
Winning debut also for French defending champions Saint Nazaire VB Atlantique, who won on the field of Halkbank Ankara a thrillig game that has been solved only at tie break, 2-3 (22:25, 30:28, 25:18, 20:25, 24:26)…and look at the score of fifth set! In a game very balanced and with very similar numbers, Henri Leon scored 26 points for the winners including 2 aces, 6 of his team’s 14 winning blocks and 44% in attack, while Marek Sotola tallied 24 for the team from Turkey’s capital.
On the same Pool, italian champions of everything Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia made their winning debut over Jihostroj České Budějovice fro Czech Republic, 3-0 (25:16, 25:23, 25:22), with 14 points each from Oleh Plotnytskyi and Jesus Herrera.
Also Pool E has been completed with the winners of Germany’s SVG Lüneburg, also at tie break, against Chaumont VB 52 from France, 3-2 (17:25, 23:25, 26:24, 25:19, 15:13)
with 21 points from top scorer Xander Ketrzynski, and Polish titleholders Jastrzębski Węgiel who trampled over Levski Sofia from Bulgaria, 3-0 (25:17, 25:18, 25:17).
Coach Marcelo Mendez fielded his top players, and it paid off as Jastrzębski controlled the game from its very start. Tomasz Fornal and Norbert Huber led with powerful serves, while Benjamin Toniutti skillfully orchestrated the offense across all zones.
