France: Poitiers destroy Cannes in advance of Round 10

Round 13 of 2024/25 Marmara Spike League started today with the big match for second/third place between newcomers Cannes and Poitiers, two sides that boasted the same number of points in the standings, 17, also sharing third place in the standings.
To celebrate a great straight sets victory is Poitiers, over a rival that played below expectations, 0-3 (19:25, 21:25, 22:25), and they did it in front of more than 3000 volleyball fans at Palais des Victoires!
To make the difference, in addition to a great performance in attack (55% to 39%), are 20 points from top scorer Dusan Nikoli, including 1 ace and 66% in attack, and 13 from MVP Jackson Howe, with 70% in attack, 5 blocks and 1 ace. Double digit also for Olympic Gold medalist Earvin Ngapeth, who left the court with 11 points to his name, 1 ace and 48% in attack. Reda Haikal was the only player in double digit for Cannes, tallying 10 points through 53% in attack.

With this success, Poitiers fly to the second place of the standings at -2 from leaders Tourcoing, who tomorrow will face Saint Nazaire, and at +2 from Montpellier, who had a dayoff this weekend.
Tomorrow also the clash between Nice and Tours, Toulouse and Sète, Chaumont and Paris while, in a very interesting clash, second-to-last Narbonne (6 points) will welcome last-placed Plessis-Robinson (4 points).
