Meanwhile, Allianz Milano stunned Modena with a great 1-3 (20:25, 18:25, 25:21, 20:25) on the road, with Ferre Reggers leading the charge with 18 points as well as MVP award. Despite Modena’s late resurgence, Milano’s sharp serving and defense sealed a well-deserved victory.
Modena now faces top-seeded Perugia in the upcoming Coppa Italia quarterfinals, while Milano will play of the field of No.3 Cucine Lube Civitanova.
Cisterna Volley celebrated its first-ever Coppa Italia qualification by defeating Monza 3-1 (25:20, 21:25, 25:21, 30:28) in front of their home fans. Theo Faure, MVP of the match, scored 20 points, fueling a euphoric crowd of 1,626 as Cisterna closed the first leg in style. No.7 in the standings, they’ll face No.2 Itas Trentino.
