Italy: Round 13 is over – epic win for Grottazzolina over Modena! 3 points also for Trento, Civitanova and Perugia

Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina celebrated a historic 3-1 (27:25, 25:23, 23:25, 28:26) win over Valsa Group Modena, marking their first-ever home victory in SuperLega, as well as their second win in italian elite competition after the great straight sets success on the field of Monza, last Friday. Danny Demyanenko’s strong performance earned him MVP honors with 10 points to his name, while Dusan Petkovic was the top scorer of the match with 26 points.
Itas Trentino overcame a tough Gioiella Prisma Taranto on the road with the score of 1-3 (30:32, 25:19, 20:25, 15:25), led by Alessandro Michieletto who scored 21 points in a hard-fought match.
Cucine Lube Civitanova sweep Allianz Milano to stay unbeatable at home, defeating the rivals in just three sets, partially 25:18, 25:20 and 25:23. Eric Loeppky led the team to their ninth consecutive home win and claimed MVP award with 14 points to his name.
Close the picture titleholders Sir Susa Vim Perugia, who extend their impressive winning streak consisting in 19 games, beating Sonepar Padova 3-1 (23:25, 25:21, 25:19, 25:21). After losing first set, the hosts were able to win the game without major problems, led by an once again decisive Oleh Plotnytskyi who left the court with 14 points to his name and 4 aces.
Superlega will continue already on Wednesday, December 26 with all games of Round 18.
