Volleyball world mourns the loss of italian legendary coach Daniele Bagnoli

World of volleyball is in shock today following the passing of Daniele Bagnoli, one of the sport’s most respected and successful coaches, who died at the age of 71 after a long illness, leaving behind a legacy of triumphs and cherished memories shared by players, colleagues, and fans around the globe.

Born in Mantua on October 25, 1953, he wrote some of the most remarkable pages in volleyball history, guiding renowned Italian clubs like Modena, Roma, and Treviso to success.
With eight championship titles to his name—tied with the legendary Franco Anderlini—Bagnoli’s accomplishments cemented his status as a volleyball legend.

Beyond Italy, his passion for our sport took him across the globe, as he coached the Russian national team and Dinamo Moscow, spent seasons leading clubs in Qatar, Iran, and Tunisia, and left his mark in every locker room he entered.
