2 min read

Today was an exciting day for Slovenian volleyball, as the Slovenian Cup finals concluded with victories for Calcit Kamnik in the women’s competition and ACH Volley Ljubljana in the men’s.
Calcit Kamnik literally dominate OTP Banka Branik to claim their fifth Slovenian Cup title, defeating the rivals with a clean 3-0 (25:21, 25:13, 25:16).
Led by Mika Grbavica, who was named MVP with 18 points, Kamnik showcased a commanding performance. After a very nervous start, they took full control of the game, with strong contributions from Maša Pucelj and Sara Najdič.
This success ended a two-year drought for Kamnik, as the Maribor team had dominated the last two seasons!
Meanwhile, ACH Volley Ljubljana celebrated their 15th title, proving their dominance once again, beating i-VENT Maribor also 3-0 (25:22, 25:22, 25:14).
The match was competitive in the first two sets, with the team from Maribor showing a great resilience but was unable to overcome the experience of the team from country’s capital.
Amir Golzadeh and Luka Marovt, each with 13 points, led ACH, with the latter earning MVP award.
