Poland: ZAKSA close Round 20 with 3 points and a four-sets win over Trefl Gdańsk

3 min read

ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle delivered another commanding performance, beating Trefl Gdańsk 3-1 (25:16, 23:25, 25:22, 25:16) in the match that closed 2024/25 Plusliga Round 20 or, if you prefer, Round 5 of second leg, a win which marked their third victory in a row.
Bartosz Kurek led the charge scoring 24 points to his name through a remarkable 70% attack efficiency, combined with a block, earned him the MVP honors for the match, while teammate Rafał Szymura added a strong contribution of 18 points.
Trefl Gdańsk had their moments, particularly in the second set, where they edged out a hard-fought 25-23 win, with Aliaksei Nasevich who led their scoring with 13 points, but it wasn’t enough to derail a well-oiled ZAKSA machine.
Plusliga will continue on Friday with the advance of Round 21 between Cuprum Stilon Gorzów and PSG Stal Nysa.
