Champions League: fifth week is over – all results of Thursday

2024/25 CEV Champions League Fifth Week has been completed today delivering thrilling matches and with several top teams that pushed closer to the quarterfinals.
In Pool A, Slovenia’s ACH Volley Ljubljana – Berlin Recycling Volleys 0-3 (24:26, 18:25, 18:25), with Jake Hanes who scored 18 points including 3 aces, 1 block and 64% in attack in German side’s dominant win.
In Pool A, leaders PGE Projekt Warszawa, who yesterday destroyed Greenyard Maaseik and the team from Germany’s capital are already qualified to quarterfinals.
In Pool B, Greece’s Olympiacos Piraeus beat Mint Vero Volley Monza from Italy by 3-1 (26:24, 26:24, 22:25, 25:21), led by Alen Pajenk with his 16 points through 65% in attack, 1 ace, 1 block and MVP honors. Monzaâs Luka Marttila (16 points) and debutant Diego Frascio (11 points) delivered strong performances in a losing effort, also sliding to second place in their group.
In Pool C, Allianz Milano from Italy trampled over Knack Roeselare in Belgium, winning the game without major problems with the score of 0-3 (17:25, 18:25, 20:25), led by young Tommaso Barotto, author of 18 points through 68% in attack and 3 aces.
In Pool D, Italian powerhouse Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia sweep Jihostroj ÄeskĂŠ BudÄjovice in Czech Republic 0-3 (25:27, 22:25, 16:25) to maintain their perfect record. Yuki Ishikawa led the score with 15 points, ensuring Perugiaâs quarterfinal spot with a match to spare.
In Pool E, Poland’s powerhouse JastrzÄbski WÄgiel secured a hard-fought 2-3 (21:25, 25:23, 22:25, 28:26, 12:15) in Bulgaria, on the field of Levski Sofia, led by MVP Anton Brehme, who scored 16 points, including 3 aces, 3 blocks and 77% in attack, while Venislav Antov led the hosts with 22 points and seven aces. JastrzÄbskiâs victory guarantees their place in the quarterfinals.
On the same Pool, France’s Chaumont VB 52 destroy SVG LĂźneburg from Germany 3-0 (25:21, 25:17, 25:22), with Pierre Toledo and Mathis Henno who scored 29 points in two.
With the group stage nearing its conclusion, the battle for quarterfinal spots is more intense than ever with last games all scheduled next Wednesday.
