Poland: Bełchatów destroy Będzin in advance of Round 22

Round 22 of 2024/25 PlusLiga kicked off with a dominant performance by PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów, who secured a commanding 0-3 (17:25, 20:25, 21:25) win on the field of Nowak-Mosty MKS Będzin.
The success not only earned them three crucial points in their playoff run, but also deepened Będzin’s struggles as they fight to avoid relegation, currently sitting in second-to-last place.
The winners established early dominance, comfortably taking the first two sets and closing the third in the same way, showing their superiority in attack, serving (7 aces to 4), and blocking (11 to 3).
Top scorer and MVP Amin Esmaeilnezhad led the charge with 19 points to his name, boasting 67% attack efficiency together with 1 ace and 2 blocks, supported by his teammates Miran Kujundzić with 12 and Bartłomiej Lemański, who added 10 points. On Będzin’s side, Brandon Koppers was the most prolific player with 10 points in a good but insufficient effort.
This result propels Bełchatów closer to securing a playoff spot, while MKS Będzin’s path to survival becomes increasingly dangerous.
Plusliga will continue tomorrow with other two games: PSG Stal Nysa will welcome Trefl Gdańsk while, in the evening, Indykpol AZS Olsztyn will face Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie.
