Michał Winiarski is staying at the helm of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie until 2030!
Since joining Plusliga side in 2022, he has led them to their greatest achievements in club’s history as, in the 2023/24 season, they won the TAURON Polish Cup, claimed the Polish Championship silver medal, and in September 2024, they defeated Jastrzębski Węgiel at tie break to lift the AL-KO Polish Super Cup.
They also made history by reaching the Champions League quarterfinals for the first time.
Under his guidance, the team finished second in PlusLiga regular season two years in a row and fought for the Polish Championship title. In 2024, they also pushed Jastrzębski Węgiel to a thrilling final, ultimately finishing as runners-up, in what was the club’s best-ever result.
“I feel great in Zawiercie. What we’ve built over the last three years is paying off, and we have a team that fights for top goals every season. My family loves it here too, so extending my contract was an easy decision“, he said.
“Hiring Michał Winiarski three years ago was a perfect decision. We’ve experienced both historic victories and tough moments together. We share the same vision for the future, so extending our partnership was a natural step“, added club president Kryspin Baran.
Meanwhile, he will continue coaching Germany’s national team, with which he also extended his contract.
In Paris 2024, he led Germany to the Olympic quarterfinals, where they fell to gold medalists France in a dramatic tie-break.
