After two advances played yesterday, both ended in four sets in favor of the home teams, Round 27 of 2024/25 Plusliga or, if you prefer, Round 12 of second leg, continued today with other three games.
After losing first set against last-placed Nowak-Mosty MKS Będzin, titleholders and leaders Jastrzębski Węgiel sweep the rivals with the score of 1-3 (25:21, 20:25, 14:25, 22:25). Tomasz Fornal led the charge with 16 points to his name for the winners through 57% in attack and 2 blocks, well supported by Thimotée Carle (4 aces and 38% un attack) and MVP Łukasz Kaczmarek (1 ace and 63% in attack), who added 13 each. Patryk Szwaradzki scored 19 points for the hosts, who remain to the bottom of the standings with only 12 points, at -2 from Katowice, who tomorrow will face Trefl Gdańsk on the road.
Three points and away win also for Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, who destroyed PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów in just three sets, 0-3 (16:25, 21:25, 21:25), securing their 12th straight win. MVP Łukasz Kozub led the charge also with 5 personal points as Resovia dominated in attack, blocks (11-6), and aces (8-4). Stephen Boyer scored 14 points for the winners, well supported by Klemen Čebulj who added 12.
In the evening, Bogdanka LUK Lublin defeated PSG Stal Nysa also in straight sets, 0-3 (10:25, 20:25, 17:25), claiming their 19th win. Wilfredo Leon returned in top form, scoring 18 points, including 4 aces, 1 block and 60% in attack, while setter Marcin Komenda was named MVP of a match in which they dominated in attack, with 63% of team performance compared to the hosts’ 36%.
Round 27 will continue tomorrow with other two games: ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle will welcome Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie in big match of the day, with the visiting side who will have the chance to regain second place, while Trefl Gdańsk will face GKS Katowice.
