Poland: Aluron sweep ZAKSA in big match of Round 27 and back to second place! 2 points for Gdańsk. Katowice relegated

Round 27 of 2024/25 Plusliga or, if you prefer, Round 12 of second leg, continued today with other two games.
Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie delivered a dominant performance, sweeping ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle on the road, 0-3 (15:25, 23:25, 23:25), in big match of the day, led by MVP Karol Butryn, absolute man of the match scoring as many as 26 points in just three sets including 3 aces, 1 block and an impressive 81% in attack.
Meanwhile, Trefl Gdańsk edged past GKS Katowice in a thrilling five-set battle, 3-2 (23:25, 25:16, 18:25, 25:20, 15:11).
Despite the win, the winners complicated their playoff chances, now trailing eighth-place Norwid Częstochowa by three points.
But the biggest heartbreak of the round was that GKS Katowice’s loss sealed their relegation after nine seasons in PlusLiga!
MVP Aliaksei Nasevich led the winners with 27 points to his name including 3 aces, 3 winning blocks and 51% in attack, one more Aymen Bouguerra who scored 26 points for Katowice.
Round 27 will close tomorrow with the game between Indykpol AZS Olsztyn and Steam Hemarpol Norwid Częstochowa, decisive for playoffs run.
