Poland: away wins for Aluron and Jastrzębski who keep finals hopes alive!

Semifinals of 2024/25 Plusliga continued today with Games 2 of best-of-three series.
After losing Game 1 in Warszawa at tie break, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie edged out PGE Projekt Warszawa 3-2 (25:14, 25:22, 23:25, 22:25, 16:14) again in a thrilling home game. Just like in Game 1, the hosts took the first two sets, but the visiting side fought back and, the end, a nail-biting tie-break went the hosts’ way. Setter Miguel Tavares was named MVP of the match, while Bartosz Kwolek and Aaron Russell led the charge with 18 and 16 points, respectively. Linus Weber scored 18 points too for Warszawa.
Series is now tied 1–1, and decider’s set for Saturday, April 26 in country’s capital.
Meanwhile, in Lublin, JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel down Bogdanka LUK Lublin 1-3 (29:31, 25:15, 20:25, 22:25) despite losing libero Jakub Popiwczak early to injury. Łukasz Kaczmarek and Tomasz Fornal led the charge with 18 points each, and the first one shared his MVP award with young sub Jakub Jurczyk.
Wilfredo Leon scored 20 points on the other side of the net and, after an unexpected win of Lublin in Game 1, that series is also tied 1–1. Game 3 heads back to Jastrzębie-Zdrój this Saturday too, with both finalists that will be decided this weekend!
