Turkey: Ziraat sweep Galatasaray in Game 1 of Final

2024/25 SMS Grup Efelerligi Play-off Final wrapped up today with first clash between regular season winners Ziraat Bankkart and No.2 Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, ended in just three sets in favor of the home team, 3-0 (25:19, 25:21, 26:24).
Defending champions Ziraat Bankkart delivered a commanding victory giving them a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five series.
Backed by the stellar performances of Wouter Ter Maat, who scored 15 points, Trevor Clevenot, Bedirhan Bülbül and Matthew Anderson, who added 11 each, Ziraat Bankkart set the tone early, overpowering the rivals in the first two sets. Altough the third set proved to be more tightly contested, the winners held their nerve to close it with the minimum gap.
Olympic champion Jean Patry scored 16 points for Galatasaray, while Ivan Zaytsev struggled, tallying only 4 points through 14% in attack!
