Poland: Lublin stun Jastrzębski. Aluron in final too!

In a thrilling 2024/25 PlusLiga playoff semifinal, defending champions and regular season winners JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel fall 2-3 (22:25, 25:20, 24:26, 25:23, 9:15) to Bogdanka LUK Lublin in a hard-fought third and deciding match, with the winners who secured the series 2–1 to take their place in the final.
Despite a strong effort, Jastrzębski Węgiel will not defend their Polish championship title, which they had won in the previous two seasons, despite 28 points from Tomasz Fornal and 19 from Łukasz Kaczmarek. the winners, Kewin Sasak led the charge with 23 points to his name, well supported by Wilfredo Leon, who added 19, and Aleks Grozdanow, also in double digit with 10. However, to make the difference, was also net’s domination, with Lublin who recorded as many as 16 winning blocks compared to the rivals’ 11, while Kewin Sasak, earned MVP honors with 17 successful attacks out of 32 attempts through 53% efficiency, seasoned with six winning blocks.
Bogdanka LUK Lublin will now face Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie in the PlusLiga final, who clinched their ticket after a thrilling 2-3 (19:25, 25:21, 25:21, 19:25, 14:16) win on the field of PGE Projekt Warszawa. In a semi-final series packed with drama and three tie-breaks in as many games, they proved their strength, winning the best-of-three clash 2–1.
In front of almost 5000 volleyball fans, powered by MVP Patryk Łaba, who joined the game starting from the bench leaving the court with 10 points to his name trough 64% in attack and 1 block, and key contributions from Bartosz Kwolek and Kyle Ensing, who tallied 19 and 14 points, respectively, the winners showed fierce resistance, stunning their rivals with strong serves and fewer errors, making the difference in a nail-biting decider.
