MOK Mursa Osijek won 2024/25 Croatian Championship! HAOK Mladost Zagreb defeated at tie break

MOK Mursa Osijek secured 2024/25 Croatian championship after a thrilling five-set drama against HAOK Mladost Zagreb, sealing a final 3-2 victory (26:24, 17:25, 17:25, 25:17, 15:13) thus winning the playoff best-of-five series with the score of 3-1. This emotional triumph comes shortly after their Croatian Cup win, completing an excellent season for Croatian club.
In decisive Game 4, played in a full-packed Jug arena, Mladost seemed in control early, leading the first set 24:18. However, Mursa’s Danilo Vuković turned the tide with an 8-0 service run, stealing the set 26:24. Despite Mladost dominating the second and third sets with powerful serving and consistent attacks, the home team wasn’t ready to surrender and flipped the momentum in the fourth set, led by Leo Andrić’s serving brilliance and a solid block performance.
Their 25:17 win leveled the match, sending it to a nail-biting fifth set, with both teams trading points until Mursa edged ahead 10:8.
After intense rallies and video challenges, the hosts finally clinched the title, with Leo Andrić sealing the last two points for a historic 3-2 victory.
Statistically, Mladost dominated in attack (65 points to 53) and serving aces (7 to 3), but the winners superior blocking, with as many as 17 points compared to the rivals’ 9 and a great resilience at key moments proved to be decisive.
Viloria Marquez (15 points) and Danilo Vuković (14 points) led the charge scorers, while Mladost’s Đorđe Jovović stood out with an amazing amount consisting in 30 points!
