What a blow for Slovenia! Rok Možič will miss 2025 World Championship
2 min read
Slovenia’s national volleyball team has suffered a huge blow ahead of the upcoming World Championship which begins on September 12 in the Philippines, as star outside hitter Rok Možič will not take part due to a knee injury that has sidelined him since the Nations League finals in China.
The 23-year-old had been undergoing therapy and training on a special program, hoping to recover in time, but medical checks confirmed the risk of playing would be too high.
“Sadly, the inflammation in my knee hasn’t healed enough. I truly hoped to be ready, but time wasn’t on my side,” the player from Maribor shared emotionally, also expressing deep disappointment at missing the tournament he was eagerly awaiting.
Slovenia National Team is now heading to Osaka for final preparations before traveling to Manila, where they’ll start their campaign without one of their major players.
