Italy: Verona sweep Grottazzolina on the road in advance of Round 2 of 2025/26 season

2025/26 SuperLega Credem Banca Round 2 started today with the advance between Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina and Rana Verona, won in a clean 0-3 (21:25, 17:25, 20:25) sweep without major problems in favor of the visiting side.
Rana Verona continued their strong start also at the PalaSavelli, taking control early and keeping their rhythm throughout the match, never allowing Grottazzolina to find consistency or re-open a one-sided game. With this result, Verona collects their second consecutive victory, moving to six points in the standings. Grottazzolina, meanwhile, remains at zero but will aim to rebound soon.
Leading the way was legendary setter Micah Christenson, who once again orchestrated the offense brilliantly also earning MVP award, but bot Darlan Souza and Rok Mozic also scored 13 points each while, in the middle, Lorenzo Cortesia added 9 points with an excellent 83% attack success rate.
For the home team, Amir Golzadeh was the most prolific player with 11 points even if, despite flashes of good play, his team couldn’t keep up with Verona’s play.
The second round of the Regular Season continues on Sunday, October 26, with the remaining matches.
