Poland: Round 2 of 2025/26 season continues – win for Jastrzębski and Resovia. First win for newcomers Chełm!

Round 2 of 2025/26 Plusliga, started yesterday with first three games serving up pure volleyball drama including a dominant wins and exciting comebacks, continued today with other three games.
Today matches brought thrilling volleyball action including five-set battles as well as amazing individual performances, with Resovia’s hard-fought home win, Jastrzębski’s dominant sweep and Chełm’s historic triumph in Poland’s elite competition.
Asseco Resovia Rzeszów celebrated their first home match of the season with a dramatic five-set win over Energa Trefl Gdańsk, 3-2 (25:19, 23:25, 23:25, 25:23, 15:13). Karol Butryn led the charge with 24 points to his name earning the MVP award for his 46% attack rate, two aces, and four blocks, while a strong support came from Yacine Louati and Danny Demyanenko, who added 12 each, and Klemen Cebulj, also double digit with 10. On the other side of the net, Aleksiej Nasewicz scored 31 points, backed by Tobias Brand with 18 and Piotr Orczyk with 14, but 40 unforced errors cost them the match.
Defending champions JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel trampled over Ślepsk Malow Suwałki in straight sets, partially 25:20, 25:17 and 33:31.
Anton Brehme was unstoppable, taking MVP honors with 14 points and an amazing 92% attack success (12/13), including an ace and a block, while Nicolas Szerszeń added 12 points. For the visiting side, Asparuh Asparuhov and Bartosz Filipiak left the court with 15 and 13 points, respectively.
In the evening, PlusLiga newcomers InPost ChKS Chełm claimed a historic first victory, edging Cuprum Stilon Gorzów in a rollercoaster five-sets battle, 3-2 (14:25, 25:22, 25:22, 8:25, 15:13). Paweł Rusin led with 14 points, supported by Jędrzej Goss and Tomasz Piotrowski who added 12 each, and Rune Fasteland with 11 points to his name, while setter Jay Blankenau earned MVP honors. Chizoba Neves Atu impressed with as many as 31 points for the losing side, followed by Mathis Henno who added 21 and Patryk Niemiec with 13.
Round 2 will close on Tuesday with the clash between Barkom Każany Lwów and Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Częstochowa.
