Poland: Trefl Gdańsk open 2025/26 season with a tie break win over Barkom Każany Lwów

Energa Trefl Gdańsk kicked off the new 2025/26 PlusLiga season with a thrilling 3-2 (19:25, 25:20, 20:25, 25:19, 15:8) home victory over Barkom Każany Lwów, fighting back twice from a set down to claim the win in front of an amazed home crowd.
German outside hitter Tobias Brand led the charge, earning the MVP title after a dominant 23-point performance made with powerful spikes and consistent play, decisive to turn the tide for the hosts, while Aliaksei Nasevich added 21 points, and Piotr Orczyk also contributed 17, providing strong support throughout the five-set battle.
On the other side of the net, Vasyl Tupchii left the court with 20 points, showing determination and a collection of great actions despite the narrow loss.
First Round of 2025/26 season will continue tomorrow with other two games: Ślepsk Malow Suwałki will welcome Asseco Resovia Rzeszów while, in the evening, PGE Projekt Warszawa will face newcomers InPost ChKS Chełm.
