Poland: Bełchatów and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie win advances of Round 8. Jastrzębski KO!

Round 8 of 2025/26 Plusliga started today with first two games.
PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów delivered a powerful performance beating JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel in four sets, partially 21:25, 25:22, 25:13 and 25:21. Although the visiting side secured the first set, the hosts roared back to claim the next three, highlighted by an amazing 11-point run in the third set!
Daniel Chitigoi led the charge with 25 points to his name earning MVP honors after his 59% attack efficiency, two aces, and as many as seven winning blocks, while his teammates Arkadiusz Żakieta and Bartłomiej Lemański added important contributions with 19 and 16 points, respectively. For Jastrzębski, Michał Gierżot with 17 points was the most prolific player.
Bełchatów dominated at the net with a 16–4 blocking advantage.
In the evening, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie continued their run through season with a clean 3-0 (25:20, 25:20, 25:22) sweep over Barkom-Każany Lwów. The winners clinched their eighth win in ten matches, solidifying their position at the top of the current charts, led by Aaron Russell, top scorer with 17 points, while setter Miguel Tavares earned the MVP award. The hosts controlled the flow of the match with stronger attack and a 10–7 edge from the serve line.
Round 8 will continue tomorrow with other two games: PGE Projekt Warszawa will welcome Indykpol AZS Olsztyn while, in the evening, Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Częstochowa will face Cuprum Stilon Gorzów.
