Poland: Resovia sweep Gorzów in last game (so far) of fragmented Round 16

In fragmented Round 16 of 2025/26 Plusliga, started last week and with its last game between Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Częstochowa and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie scheduled on Wednesday, February 4, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów celebrated a clean 0-3 (23:25, 19:25, 19:25) win on the field of Cuprum Stilon Gorzów, despite the absences of middle blocker Dawid Woch, who suffered a serious knee injury that will require a surgery, and Lukas Vasina.
In front of more than 2500 volleyball fans, Artur Szalpuk led the charge with 14 points to his name through 62%, 2 blocks, 2 aces and MVP awards, well Cezary Sapinski also contributed with 10 including 4 winning blocks and 100% in attack (6/6).
Mathis Henno also scored 14 points on the other side of the net.
With this result, Resovia jump from 7th place in the standings to 3rd, at least temporarily, as Plusliga will continue already tomorrow with the very important clash to relegation race between Ślepsk Malow Suwałki and Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Częstochowa, and InPost ChKS Chełm who will face No.5 Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie in the evening.
