Italy: Verona sweep Cuneo in advance of Round 17

Round 17 of 2025/26 Superlega CredemBanca or, if you prefer, Round 6, of second leg, started today with the advance between Rana Verona and league newcomers MA Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo.
Verona continued their impressive run delivering a commanding 3-0 (25:17, 25:20, 25:23) victory in front of 5,150 fans at a packed Pala AGSM AIM, a result that marked their sixth straight win and their second clean sweep in just a few days.
The home side set the tone early, dominating through the opening set with pace and precision before controlling also the second one. Cuneo showed a stronger reply in the third, but Verona stayed composed in the closing stages to seal the match in three sets.
Captain Rok Mozic led the charge on his birthday, leading all scorers with 17 points through an outstanding 76% success rate in attack, well supported by Noumory Keita who added 14 and Darlan Souza with 12.
Despite a late push from Cuneo, including several service aces and solid blocking, Verona responded decisively, closing the final set 25–23 and securing all three points.
Round 17 will close tomorrow with the remaining games, including the big match between Cucine Lube Civitanova and Sir Susa Scai Perugia and a very important clash for relegation race between Sonepar Padova and Cisterna Volley.
