France: Toulouse stop Tours! Chaumont stun Tourcoing. 4th defeat in a row for Plessis Robinson and the others of Round 19

Midweek Round 19 of 2025/26 MARMARA Spike League has been played entirely today with all 7 scheduled games.
After dropping first two sets in front of more than 2500 home fans at their Salle Grenon, leaders Tours performed a comeback until 2-2 under the blows of an almost unstoppable Nik Mujanovic, absolute top scorer of the game with 32 points to his name all in attack through 63%, however Toulouse, playing probably the most beautiful match of the season, closed the contest with the score of 2-3 (18:25, 23:25, 25:20, 25:15, 11:15)! Pierre Derouillon and Wilson Silva led the winners, authors of one of the upsets of the day, with 18 and 16 points, respectively.
Behind Tours, who remained firmly to the top of the standings with 48 points, at -3, Montpellier, who celebrated a straight sets home win over a disappointing Nice, 3-0 (25:18, 25:23, 25:18), who could only rely on Shay Liberman, top scorer of the match with 16 points to his name through 56% in attack and 1 ace, even though he wasn’t enough to take at least one set. Struggling only in second set and at very beginning of third one, the winners were led by Ezequiel Palacios and Tomas Lopez, who recorded 14 points each, and Simon Hirsch, who also contributed with 11.
At third place now at -3 from Montpellier and -6 from the leaders Tourcoing, who suffered a heavy home defeat over a very good Chaumont, 1-3 (20:25, 25:17, 16:25, 19:25), who literally blocked them with 16 winning blocks, 7 only from Alex Saaremaa, while No.4 Poitiers, after an unexpected stop on the field of Nice last Saturday, quickly back to the win with a 3-0 (30:28, 25:23, 25:21) hard-fought success over Cannes, with 16 points from Tomas Pujol and 13 from Kévin Kobrine.
Another upset come from Paris, where newcomers and last-placed Ajaccio shock the team from country’s capital winning the game in just three sets, 0-3 (23:25, 29:31, 21:25)! Daniel Martins De Pinho top-scored the winners with 22 points to his name through 66% in attack and 1 ace, while Matey Patak added 14. Not a good news, however, for today’s winners who, despite these three very important points conquered, remained to the bottom of the standings with 14 points ( also due a penalty, at -4 from St-Nazaire, victorious today over Narbonne.
The game ended with the score of 3-1 (31:33, 25:17, 25:19, 25:23), with 14 winning blocks and with 23 points from top scorer Filip John (47% in attack with 1 ace and 2 blocks), while Sète inflicted to Plessis-Robinson four defeat in a row, closing the game 0-3 (24:26, 19:25, 14:25) on the road, struggling only in first set.
The winners played a great match in attack, with 62% of team performance and 13 points apiece from Lorenz Karlitzek, Noa Marttila, Nicolas Zerba and Tristan Schlienger.
Sète will return to the court already on Thursday with the derby against Montpellier valid as advance of Round 20.
