3 min read

After the clean success of No.2 in regular season PGE Projekt Warszawa over No.7 JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel, 2025/26 Plusliga Playoffs Quarterfinals continued today with other two games, with Resovia and Lublin who celebrated straight sets victories to move within one win of the semifinals.
In first match of the day, in what supposed to be the most balanced clash, No.4 in regular season Asseco Resovia Rzeszów literally destroyed No.5 Indykpol AZS Olsztyn 3-0 (25:18, 25:19, 25:20) with 13 winning blocks and 18 points from MVP and top scorer Yacine Louati (36% in attack, 4 winning blocks and 6 of the winners’ 8 aces). Karol Butryn also contributed with 13 trhough 53% in attack, 3 blocks and 1 ace while, on the other side of the net, no player reached a double digit, with 9 points from Morirz Karlitzek.
The home side controlled the match with better attacking efficiency, a stronger block (14–6), and more effective serving (8–6), while also committing significantly fewer errors.
Predictions respected with a straight sets win also for No.3 and defending champions BOGDANKA LUK Lublin over No.6 PGE GiEK SKRA Bełchatów, 3-0 (25:23, 25:22, 25:22) in a tightly contested encounter. Despite the scoreline, each set remained balanced until the closing stages, where Lublin’s composure proved decisive, with Wilfredo Leon who led the charge for the hosts with 13 points, supported by Hilir Henno who added 12 and both Mateusz Malinowski and Fynnian McCarthy, also in double digit with 10 each. On the other side of the net, Alan Souza matched Leon’s score with 13 points to his name, while Bartłomiej Lemański added 12 and Daniel Chitigoi also contributed with 10.
Setter Marcin Komenda was named MVP for orchestrating Lublin’s efficient offense.
The PlusLiga quarterfinals are played in a best-of-three format, with the second matches scheduled for April 4 in Bełchatów and Olsztyn, respectively.
Tomorrow regular season winners Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie will face ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle in last Game 1 of best-of-three Quarterfinal series.
