Italy: Monza and Milano sweep Padova and Cisterna in Playoffs 5th Place debut

In debut of 2025/26 Superlega CredemBanca Playoffs 5th Place, clean success for Vero Volley Monza and Allianz Milano, both victorious in quarterfinals Game 1 against Sonepar Padova and Cisterna Volley, respectively.
At their Opiquad Arena, Monza needed just 1 hour and 17 minutes to prevail over the rivals, 3-0 (25:22, 25:19, 25:21), with Erik Rohrs and Zhasmin Velichkov who led the charge with 17 and 14 points, respectively, while setter Jan Zimmermann earned MVP honors. On the losing side, Tommaso Stefani with 12, Mattia Orioli with 11 and Tim Held with 10 reached a double digit.
These two will back to the court on Wednesday, April 8, at Padova’s Kioene Arena.
After winning CEV Challenge Cup on Wednesday, Allianz Milano easily sweep Cisterna also in straight sets, 3-0 (25:19, 25:19, 25:14), with Ferre Reggers who scored 23 points in just three sets, and Tatsunori Otsuka also in double digit with 13. Tommaso Barotto was the only player top-scored Cisterna with 10. Game 2 in Cisterna also on Wednesday while, on Easter Monday, Valsa Group Modena will welcome MA Acqua San Bernardo Cuneo in last quarterfinal.
