After an easy straight sets home win in Game 1 of best-of-three series, in what supposed to be most balanced clash, No.4 in regular season Asseco Resovia Rzeszów sweep again No.5 Indykpol AZS Olsztyn on the road, 0-3 (18:25, 26:28, 14:25), to become last team who claimed semifinal’s ticket!
In front of 4030 volleyball fans at Hala Urania, the visiting side won with 13 winning blocks, 15 points from top scorer Karol Butryn (62% in attack with 1 ace and 1 block), 14 from MVP Danny Demianenko, who left the court with an impressive 70% in attack and 6 winning blocks, and 10 from Mateusz Poręba, also in double digit with 10.
Semifinals also for No.3 in regular season BOGDANKA LUK Lublin, who sweep No.6 PGE GiEK SKRA Bełchatów on the road also in straight sets, 0-3 (24:26, 21:25, 22:25), despite a bad day of bomber Wilfredo Leon, who left the court with only 6 points through 35% in attack, but with an excellent performance from MVP Mateusz Malinowski, top scorer of the match with 15 points to his name, all in attack, through 65%, well supported by Fynnian McCarthy who added 10 through 71% in attack, blocks and 3 aces.
Meanwhile, No.7 in regular season JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel shocked PGE Projekt Warszawa tying the best-of-three series 1-1, and winning the game with the score of 3-2 (25:23, 21:25, 11:25, 26:24, 15:13) in front of their home fans, with 24 points from MVP Adam Lorenc (61% in attack and 2 aces), and 20 from Michał Gierżot with 2 aces, 2 blocks and 51% in attack.
On Monday, No.8 ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle will welcome Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie after stunning regular season winners in Game 1.
