Berlin Recycling Volleys claimed their 10th Bundesliga championship in a row after defeating SVG Lüneburg 1-3
(19:25, 22:25, 25:22, 12:25) in Game 3 of 2025/26 finals.
The team from country’s capital sealed the title in front of a packed crowd at the Lüneburg’s LKH Arena, completing a 3-0 sweep in the best-of-five series and capturing the 16th German championship in club history.
Jake Hanes played a key role in the triumph as the winners controlled much of the clash and the hosts able to extend the match by taking the third set, but the visitors responded strongly in the fourth one to finish the job in very convincing way.
Head coach Markus Steuerwald praised his team’s belief and unity after the win, while captain Ruben Schott described the latest title as one of the team’s hardest-earned successes.
Lüneburg coach Stefan Hübner, on the other hand, credited Berlin’s serving pressure as the decisive factor across the series despite his team’s desperate effort.
In these playoffs, No.2 in regular season (behind Lüneburg) Berlin won 2-0 the best-of-three series against Netzhoppers, 2-1 vs. VfB Friedrichshafen the semifinals and now Lüneburg, in Gran Finale.
