3 min read

It’s time for confirmations also for Vero Volley Monza and Allianz Milano.

The first one, after captain Thomas Beretta, after as many as 12 seasons with the club, confirmed also Zhasmin Velichkov.
The Bulgarian outside hitter, born in 2007, was one of the biggest surprises of the season that has just concluded. Initially included in Massimo Eccheli’s squad as a young backup option, the Bulgarian talent gradually carved out an important role for himself, showcasing technical skills, personality, and the ability to adapt to one of the highest-level leagues in the world.

“I’m extremely happy to continue wearing the Vero Volley jersey,” he said “I truly appreciate the support I’ve received from the club, the coaches, and the fans, who have always stood by my side and passionately supported the team. I believe I’ve improved in every aspect during my time in Monza, but there is still a lot of work to do. My personal goals are to keep growing, both as a person and as a volleyball player, in every possible way.”

Meanwhile, Monza said good bye to middle blocker Leandro Mosca, next season in Cuneo, German outside hitter Erik RĂśhrs, who will continue his career in Greece, while showed interest for Bulgarian middle blocker Iliya Petkov, last season with the jersey of Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina, Dutch opposite Sil Meijs, last season in Maaseik (Belgoum), outsite hitter Tommaso Ichino from Allianz Milano and libero Nicola Pesaresi, from Itas Trentino, as well as U.S. Setter Andrew Rowan, from UCLA.
Libero Leonardo Scanferla could join Verona.
Setter Jan Zimmermann will continue his career in Korea, KB Stars.

About Allianz Milano, under the command of new head coach Guillermo Falasca, and after hiring legendary middle blocker Robertlandy Simon from Piacenza, confirmed the signing of highly rated Belgian opposite Basil Dermaux, who joins from Knack Roeselare after emerging as one of the top young players in European volleyball. The 22-year-old collected consecutive Belgian “Player of the Year” awards and gained international attention with impressive performances in the CEV Champions League and was one of the standout players of the competition, highlighted by a sensational 39-point display against Halkbank Ankara. He also played a key role in Roeselare’s run to the Belgian league finals before the club fell to Greenyard Maaseik in the championship series.

Dermaux sees the move to Italy as a major step in his development.
“I want to push myself and grow even more as a player,” he said. “The Italian league is the highest level, and I’m excited for the challenge.”

The Belgian international reportedly had offers from other European clubs, including Poland, but chose Milano as the best fit for his career progression. Reuniting with former teammate Seppe Rotty (in photo) also helped influence his decision, who will continue his career in Milano too after a long injury.

On the other hand opposite Ferre Reggers is expected to join Perugia, while setter Fernando Kreling could join Fenerbahçe.
