France: Oussama Ben Romdhane to Tourcoing (and more from the French club)

2 min read

Tourcoing Lille Métropole continue to shape their roster ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Eliminated in the Marmara SpikeLigue quarterfinals by Arago de Sète, the northern French club is preparing to open a new chapter with the departures of several long-serving key players, including middle blocker Simon Roehrig, outside hitters Jan Martínez Franchi and Ignacio Luengas and libero Thibault Loubeyre.
Despite these changes, they remain highly ambitious as the club, which recently extended head coach Dorian Rougeyron, will rely on a renewed yet competitive roster. Winners of the French Cup in 2025, Tourcoing have already secured contract extensions for Venislav Antov, Namory Dosso, Maxime Comtet, Martin Brillet, and Andrea Catarsi, and also welcomed Raphael Pascal, Robbert Andringa, Julian Debès, Matias Giraudo, Nathan Canovas, and Joaquín Gallego.

This Monday, they officially announced the signing of Oussama Ben Romdhane as outside hitter. At just 23 years old, the Tunisian international, who represented his country at the 2025 World Championship, arrives in northern France after spells with Étoile Sportive du Sahel, Avignon, Nantes, and most recently Abeille Girondine, where he had played since 2023.

Standing at 1.93 meters tall, the Tunisian played an outstanding statistical season. With 431 points scored — averaging 16.6 points per match and 4.35 points per set — he ranked among the league’s top scorers, finishing eighth overall and seventh in points per set. He also posted impressive numbers with a 49% attack success rate, 52% positive receptions, 33 aces, and 31 blocks.
