Poland: Željko Ćorić new setter of Norwid Częstochowa

2 min read

Experienced Bosnian setter Željko Ćorić has joined Plusliga side Norwid Częstochowa, relegated but again in Plusliga next season, bringing with him extensive experience from top European clubs, appearances in European competitions, and numerous achievements on the international stage.

Throughout his career, he has represented numerous clubs across Europe including Serbia, Austria, Belgium, Belarus and France. His greatest achievements in recent years came with Tours VB, where he competed both in the French league and in European competitions and, among his accomplishments are a CEV Cup title, national championships, and domestic cup victories. He has also represented the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team in international competitions.

PlusLiga is one of the most demanding, but also one of the most exciting leagues in Europe. That made my decision much easier when the opportunity to join Norwid appeared,” he said.

For Ćorić, the move to Częstochowa represents another important step in his sporting development.

The main reason for my move to Norwid is the desire to keep developing and pushing my own limits. And in PlusLiga, I will certainly have to do that.

The Bosnian volleyball player also emphasized that he had heard many positive opinions about Polish volleyball and the atmosphere surrounding PlusLiga for many years.

I’ve had many teammates who played in Poland. They all told me that I should experience for myself what makes Poland so special. Now I’ll finally get to see it with my own eyes.

Częstochowa’s roster for the 2026/27 season already includes Tomasz Kowalski, Daniel Popiela, as well as two national team players — Jakub Kiedos and Jakub Nowak.
