Halkbank has confirmed that Radostin Stoytchev will remain head coach for the 2026ā27 season, continuing the clubās commitment to technical stability as it builds its roster for the new campaign.
The Bulgarian coach, who returned to the Ankara-based club in April 2025 for his second spell in charge, will continue leading the Turkish side after overseeing the final part of last season and the beginning of a new long-term project. His return came more than a decade after his successful first stint with Halkbank in the 2013ā14 season.
In its official announcement, Halkbank underlined that Stoytchev will continue the work started ahead of the new season: “Continuing the work in line with the squad structure created before the new season, Stoytchev will prepare our team for its new objectives together with our coaching staff and players.”
Since rejoining the club, Stoytchev guided Halkbank to the 2025 CEV Champions League Final Four, having taken over shortly before the event after Igor KolakoviÄās departure. Although he arrived late in the season, he led the team into Europeās biggest club event, where Halkbank eventually finished fourth. Domestically, the Ankara side concluded the 2025ā26 Turkish league season in third place, securing qualification for the 2026ā27 CEV Cup.
Despite the encouraging European run, Stoytchev has not won a trophy during his current spell at Halkbank.
However, his history with the club is far more decorated. During his first tenure in 2013ā14, he led Halkbank to a remarkable domestic treble, winning the Turkish League, the Turkish Cup, and the Turkish Super Cup, while also taking the club to the CEV Champions League finalāthe first Turkish menās club ever to reach the title match.
One of the most accomplished coaches in world volleyball, Stoytchev is a three-time CEV Champions League winner with Trentino and remains one of the sportās most successful managers. Halkbank will now look to build on last seasonās progress under his leadership as the club targets another strong campaign both in Turkey and in European competition.
