Welcome to the 63rd episode of VolleyBar! And since we hadn’t reminded you yet this week, let’s just say it once again: we were the very first to launch a daily column of this kind (which our “friends” have since copied, along with some of our articles, translated word for word into Italian).

In France, American opposite Kevin Kobrine, 26, joins Nice Volley Ball after starring for Poitiers last season, while reigning champions Montpellier have announced the signing of Severi Savonsalmi, multiple-time awarded as Finland’s best middle blocker. The Finnish international spent the previous seasons with German powerhouse VfB Friedrichshafen before moving to Romania last season, where he represented CS Arcada Galați.
Lilian Lemeur, former libero of Chaumont, left the club to join Chartres as outside hitter!

In Polish Tauron Liga, another volleyball superstar is joining the party, as Yuri Romanò has officially become a new player of PGE Projekt Warszawa.

Meanwhile, the experienced middle blocker Cezary Sapiński joins ChKS Chełm!
The 31-year-old has spent the last two seasons with Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, joining the club in 2024 from Indykpol AZS Olsztyn. Standing at 203 cm, Sapiński has already made 157 appearances at the highest level of Polish volleyball and has scored more than 1,000 points.

About international volleyball, yesterday in Los Angeles, Micah Christenson underwent a successful meniscectomy and knee-cleaning procedure. The operation went perfectly, and his recovery is expected to be relatively short.

Canada opens third day of Men’s Pan American Cup to remain undefeated after prevailing 3-1 (25:18, 25:15,22:25, 25:21) against Costa Rica, with 16 points from Arthur Szwarc. Gilberth Solano recorded 20 points for Costa Rica.
Meanwhile, USA picked up its second win in Morelos to sweep Puerto Rico 3-0 (25:21, 26:24, 25:18) to improve 2-0 in Pool A with 11 points each from Patrick Rogers and Sean Kelly. Also Pedro Molina collected the same number of points on the other side of the net.
Guatemala bounced back to defeat Curaçao 3-1 (23:25, 25:23, 25:19, 25:17) and celebrate their first win at the competition with 20 points from Andy Leonardo, while, on the same Pool, Mexico continues perfect run after a 3-1 (24:26, 25:14, 25:17, 25:22) victory over Dominican Republic. Diego Gonzalez and Franky Hernández led the winners woth 20 and 18 points respectively.

The pools are officially set for the 2026 AVC Men’s Volleyball Continental Championship, which will be held from September 4–13, 2026, in Fukuoka, Japan.
