Italy: Three points for Perugia and Milano. Modena defeats Cisterna at tie break to record fourth win in a row

Italian Superlega Credem Banca Round 10 was completed today with three matches.

In the first one scheduled, prediction respected for super favorite Sir Safety Conad Perugia, who defeats at home Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia with a clear 3-0 (25:21, 25:22, 25:13) to continue their climbing towards the top of the charts.
Situation always under control for the hosts, second set apart when Vibo Valentia reached also a -2 (23- 21), to collapse 25-22.
Interestingly, in this match coach Nikola Grbic, used all his players at his disposal but, in any case, also numbers are all in favor of them: Perugia was in fact better in serving (5 aces vs. 1), in reception (57% positive vs. 36%), in attack (49% efficiency vs. 31%) and in blocking (11 vs. 1).
MVP of the match was a very good Kamil Rychlicki, who ended the match with 10 points, including two afes and 2 winning blocks. Good also Leon with 13 points, while on the other side of the net nobody reached a double digit performance.

Victory also for Allianz Milano, who defeats in four sets Kioene Padova at home (25:21, 25:21, 17:25, 26:24).
It was a match with lot of up and down, and also in numbers: the hosts were better in attack (48% vs. 42%), but struggled in reception, ending the match with only 38% positive vs. 44% of Padova, who was better also in blocking (12, 8 by Vitelli, vs. 9), and in serving: 20 errors e 5 aces for Milano, 14 errors and 11 aces for Padova (4 from Weber), despite these numbers were not enough to take at least one very precious point (that would be deserved).
Thomas Jaeschke was top scorer and MVP of the match with 18 punti and 55% in attack.

The super favorite first got pinned to the ground, but then came back and won a match lasted five sets (27:25, 25:19, 18:25, 18:25, 11:15).
One point in any case for Cisterna, who touched surprise being two sets up against, at that moment, unrecognizable Modena. However Andrea Giani’s side woke up in time to avoid a resounding defeats to pack a great comeback to which they were led by the Dutchman Nimir Abdel-Aziz, author of 24 points, and Frenchman Earvin Ngapeth, 18 points, 75% reception, 12 digs and 25% perfect.
