From Toulouse to Narbonne: head coach Patrick Duflos takes on a new challenge!
2 min read
Patrick Duflos, who has already coached two French clubs during his career, Sète and Toulouse, was appointed head coach of Narbonne for the next three seasons.
A new challenge now awaits the French coach, who has been tasked with revitalizing the Centurions after a mediocre season under the command of Italian expert Lorenzo Tubertini (now head coach of Modena, in his homeland).
An important chapter, on the other hand, has come to an end for Spacer’s Toulouse with his departure, after leading the club from 2022 to 2026.
More than just a coach, he is a highly respected figure in French volleyball. Known for his demanding standards, team-first mentality, and commitment to giving opportunities to all his players, he was rewarded with the Marmara SpikeLigue Coach of the Year award for the 2025/26 season during the LNV Awards ceremony and, just one hour after the announcement of his departure from Toulouse, his signing with Narbonne was officially confirmed.
A major challenge now awaits Patrick Duflos: restoring ambition to a Narbonne side that has struggled in recent years and repeatedly fallen short of expectations. His arrival could represent a turning point for the club, a team boasting many talented young players but still struggling to fully realize its potential.
With an impressive résumé that includes a French Cup title as a player, another as a coach, and a French championship won with Tours in 2019, Patrick Duflos possesses the experience and qualities needed to bring Narbonne back to prominence. It is an ambitious mission for a coach who leaves behind a lasting legacy in Toulouse and will now attempt to revive the ambitions of a club that has failed to finish in the league’s top ten during each of the past three seasons.
