The last match of Round 2 of the French championship was played this evening. Rennes, who had lost at the tie-break in the Nice’s field in Round 1, redeemed itself by winning at home in straight sets against Paris.
Few problems for the hosts in the first two sets, in which they have always led the game, while in the third Paris has always been ahead, at least until half of the set (13:16). However, the home team played better in the decisive moments, deservedly taking this victory. Baranek and Rodrigues were the top scorers on the winning side with 16 points each, while Overbeeke scored 17 for Paris. Curious fact: Paris has not even served a single ace!
