Reigning champions SK Zadruga Aich/Dob, after a defeat in CEV Champions League and the clear MEVZA League defeat vs. Calcit Volley Kamnik last week, they were able to back to the victory, claiming their ninth DenizBank AG VL win in the season. They defeat outsider VBC TLC Weiz on Friday night after a hard battle lasted five sets 3:2 (25:21, 25:16, 17:25, 22:25, 15:7).
Aich/Dob now has 25 points in the charts, making them only second behind the new leaders of Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel: the runners-up won without lot of difficults vs. the Wörther-See-Löwen in Klagenfurt in straight sets (25:21, 25:22, 25:21) and now has one point more on their account than Aich/Dob (with one match less).
So, Waldviertel claim its ninth victory in the ten game. Lukasz Szarek was the top scorer for the winners with 16 points, followed by Rudinei Boff and Arthur Darmois who scored 10 each. David Petschnig and Arwin Kopschar scored 10 each on the other side. (PHOTOGALLERY BELOW)
Ried/Innkreis will play at home just vs. TJ Sokol Wien while Aich/Dob and Waldviertel will continue on the weekend in the MEVZA League. The first want to defend in the home game on Saturday against OK Maribor their current fourth place, while URW will play vs. the defending champion and current leaders ACH Volley Ljubljana on Sunday away!
