Austria: Klagenfurt at fourth place after a straight sets victory in Amstetten (and photogallery of the match)

Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt have a chance to finish fourth in the DenizBank AG VL with the match played tonight. The team coached by Georgios Kotsilianos won vs. a bad VCA Amstetten NÖ after a clear superior performance 3:0 (25:23, 25:19, 25:20) leaving behind Ried (now at -1). Tomorrow, the direct clash of these two teams in Ried for fourth place. However, if it will be the last match for the Wörther-See-Löwen, Amstetten still have three matches to play. So it is all still possible.
Top scorers for the home team were Niklas Etlinger with 12 points, Keaton Strom with 11 and Philip Ichovski with 6, while Simon Frühbauer with 13 points and David Petschnig and Arwin Kopschar, who put down 12 balls each, top-scored for the winners. As for numbers, Klagenfurt were clearly more efficient in attack (44:32 points), and in addition they served five aces (none for the home team).

Tomorrow (Saturday, december 7) Union Waldviertel will host the leaders and defending champion SK Zadruga Aich/Dob to the big match in their Stadthalle Zwettl. The match is also part of the MEVZA League, and URW absolutely need a victory to stay in top-four. Aich/Dob is currently at the top of the charts, unbeaten and with +4 ahead URW.
In the third Saturday game, UVC Holding Graz is the clear favorite against TJ Sokol Wien.
