Champions League: Trentino secured a place in the pool stage
2 min read
As expected, the italian powerhouse Itas Trentino secured a place in the pool stage (4th Round) of the 2021 CEV Volleyball Champions League.
They outclassed the hosts Lindaren Volley Amriswil on the last day of the competition in Pool H of the 2nd Round of qualifications.
Although in theory, the Swiss side was hoping to be the one that will advance to the main stage of the tournament, Trentino didnβt allow such a sensation: 3-0 (25:19, 25:22, 25:18). Brazilian Ricardo Lucarelli was Trentinoβs most prolific player with 11 points.
Thanks to earning first place in Pool H, the italian club will be the protagonist of the Champions League pool stage for the 10th time in its 20-year history. There, it will be placed in Pool E along with Russiaβs Lokomotiv Novosibirsk, Germanyβs VfB Friedrichshafen, and Czech ΔEZ Karlovarsko.
Thereβs only one remaining spot in the pool stage, which will be filled with the winners of Pool G of the qualifications (postponed, and new schedule yet unknown) that consists of Romaniaβs C.S.M. Arcada GalaΘi, Hungaryβs Fino KaposvΓ‘r VC, and Polandβs JastrzΔbski WΔgiel.
