Mevza: Mladost leave no chance to Aich/Dob

In the first MEVZA League match this week, Croatiaโ€™s multiple national champions Mladost Zagreb needed just 68 minutes to celebrate a clear victory (25:17, 25:17, 25:16) over SK Zadruga AICH/DOB from Austria on home soil.
While the hosts improved their win-loss record to 1-1 and moved up to the third place in the current standing, Austriaโ€™s side suffered their second setback in their third match they have contested so far. Konstantin Cupkovic and Tomislav Mitrasinovic top scored for Mladost Zagreb with 17 and 9 points respectively, while AICH/DOBโ€™s Victor Hugo Miranda de Alcantara scored 9 on the other side.

Mladost Zagreb head coach Davor Meringer: โ€œI am satisfied with the way my team played today. We have exactly carried out what we had talked about before. My players seemed more motivated and concentrated than our opponents were. I hope it goes on like this!โ€

AICH/DOBโ€™s head coach Matjaz Hafner: “Congratulations to the Mladost ZAGREB players on their convincing win. They were highly motivated โ€“ very probably because they had suffered a home loss in their MEVZA League opener against Merkur MARIBOR a week agoโ€.

The next Mevza League match is scheduled for Saturday night, when last seasonโ€™s bronze medallists Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel from Austria will welcome Calcit Kamnik from Slovenia in their home court in Zwettl.
