Austria: Amstetten claim ticket for ÖVV Cup semifinal

VCA Amstetten NÖ claimed the ticket for semifinals of the Austrian Volley Cup. The four-time cup winner prevailed against VBC TLC Weiz in straight sets (25:18, 27:25, 25:15) in their home soil. In the second set the rivals were already clearly in the lead, but missed the chance to equalize.
Last Wednesday, Weiz defeated Amstetten in five sets in a DenizBank AG VL recovery match, and just yesterday they beat the favorite Sokol, also at tie-break. Top scorers in the Johann-Pölz-Halle were once again Eduardo Romay with 18 points, while Peter Blazsovics also contributed with 12. Michael Pekar made 9 points on the other side of the net.
The game dates for the other quarterfinals UVC Holding Graz – SK Zadruga Aich / Dob and SG UVC RAIBA Waidhofen-Ybbs / Aschbach – Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel have not yet been determined.
