Austria: Weiz down Sokol, Klagenfurt destroys Hartberg

The second phase of the DenizBank AG VL basic round started on Saturday evening with two away wins: leaders TJ Sokol Wien V was defeated by VBC TLC Weiz 2-3 (25:27, 24:26, 25:19, 25:18, 10: 15), while VBK Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt left newcomers TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg no chance, celebrated a clear straight sets victory (25:17, 25:19, 25:16) on the road.
For Sokol it was the first defeat of the season against Weiz and the fourth in the league overall. Jakob Grasserbauer with 16 points was the top scorer for the winners, while Clemens Ecker made 30 on the other side.
In the second Saturday game, Klagenfurt destroys Hartberg away in just 63 minutes led by Simon Frühbauer, 14 points. Klagenfurt now holds five wins, just as many defeats and 15 points. The Carinthians still have one game against Weiz (six wins, 16 points) to recover last match of first phase.
