Italy: clear win for Trento over Piacenza, Vibo among the big, Cisterna more and more in the last place
3 min read
Three matches played today in the Italian Superlega Credem Banca Round 15. After the victory of Perugia yesterday in the advance, 3 points victory for Ravenna in their second success in a row, and thus surpasses Padova in the charts, climbing to 10th place. Fourteenth defeat of the season for Cisterna and penultimate place further and further away, now at -6 points.
In the last home match of this 2020, Itas Trentino hosted the Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza for a challenge that pits two of the fittest teams in the Superlega against each other. The match, which promised an amazing show, turned out to be a monologue by the hosts, who won 3-0 in just over an hour. The best once again was Abdel-Aziz, not surprisingly MVP of the match with 20 points, 75% in attack and 2 aces. 11 points for Lucarelli (71%, 1 ace), 9 for Lisinac (89% and 1 block) and 8 for Podrascanin (83%, 1 ace and 2 blocks). The final result confirms the growth of Trento, now back close to the immediate pursuers of Perugia and Lube.
On the other side of the net the most prolific player was Russell with 12 points (43%), but targeted by the opponent’s serve to which he concedes 3 aces (15% positive, 15% perfect). Opaque evening also for Finger (8 points, 42%) and Clevenot (6 points, 42%).
Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia gives itself a Christmas as great team, winning the home match 3-0 with Padova and confirming their position, thanks also to the defeat of Piacenza in Trento, lonely in 3rd place. Thanks to a great evening by Rossard (21 points) and despite very similar team percentages, greater incisiveness from 9 meters and the cynicism of Tonno Callipo made the difference in the decisive moments of the match.
The two recovery matches postponed for COVID will be played on January 21…
