1 min read

Jastrzębski Węgiel close the series of the 2020/21 Polish PlusLiga playoff semifinals against VERVA Warszawa ORLEN Paliwa.
The 6th-seed Warszawa was the most pleasant surprise in the playoffs, but their journey ended here, in the semifinals. Regular season vice-champions Jastrzębski Węgiel were the ones to do that, beating the club from the country’s capital in four thrilling sets (27:29, 29:27, 25:20, 26:24) in Game 2 of the series (2-0) and advancing to their first championship face-off in 11 years.
Jakub Bucki, named MVP of the match, highlighted the winners with 21 points, while Frenchman Yacine Louati made 74% reception (19 digs, 58% perfect).

The 4th-seed PGE Skra Bełchatów played on all or nothing in Game 2 against titleholders, top-seed and CEV Champions League finalists Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and it paid them off, as the 9-time champions prevailed in 4 sets to tie the series at 1-1! Serbian Dušan Petković, also named MVP of the match, top-scored the winners with 22 points, 50% in attack and 4 aces.
