Austria: Graz wins also final Game 2 against Aich/Dob! Sokol wins Game 1 for 5th place vs. Klagenfurt

UVC Holding Graz also sensationally won the second DenizBank AG VL final game, by beating title super favorite SK Zadruga Aich/Dob 3:1 in their Raiffeisen Sportpark. Partially it was 25:22, 25:15, 22:25, 26:24.

For regular season and defending champions Aich/Dob the reaction to the 2:3 home defeat Game 1 failed to materialize against a Graz highly motivated and consistent, and they were never in the lead after 9:8 in the first set until the beginning of the third.
Top scorers were Tiago Pereira with 20 points, author also of the decisive 26:24 in fourth sets and Lorenz Koraimann (17) among the winners, while Konrad Formela was the most prolific player in Aich/Dob jersey, with 18. Graz had 43% efficiency in attack against 34% of the rivals, they made 5 aces (against 1), were better also in blocking (17 to 11), and made 21 errors (against 34).
Game 3 will take place on April 18 in the JUFA-Arena Bleiburg.

In a match valid for 5th place, TJ Sokol Vienna V made a good start in Game 1, as they down Wörther-See-Löwen from Klagenfurt in a thilling five-sets-match and after a comeback from 1:2. Partially it was 29:27, 24:26, 20:25, 25:16, 15:7. Clemens Ecker, made 21 points for the winners.
Game 2 is scheduled on Wednesday in Klagenfurt.
