Austria: Waldviertel wins Game 1 for bronze vs. Amstetten. Klagenfurt tie serie for 5th place vs. Sokol.

In the first DenizBank AG VL game for third place (the bronze medal is awarded in a best-of-3 series), the favorites celebrated sovereign victory on Wednesday evening. Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel won the opening game against VCA Amstetten NÖ in the Stadthalle Zwettl in straight sets, partially 25:20, 25:21, 25:21. Marek Sulc, who contributed 13 points to the success, was MVP of the match, while Peter Blazsovics, top-scored Amstetten with 16 points.
Game 2 will be played on Saturday and, interestingly, three previous Lower Austria derbies of the season went to Waldviertel…

In serie for 5th place, VBK Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt win against TJ Sokol Vienna V 3:1 (23:25, 25:23, 25:17, 27:25) and thus forced a third duel on Saturday evening in Wien. The winner in the series will face UVC Weberzeile Ried for 5th place.
