Italy: another win for Lube! Perugia defeated in straight sets and final series to 2-0!

What a match! Cucine Lube Civitanova leave Sir Safety Conad Perugia with no chance in Game 2, and they are now one step away from the third consecutive Italian Volleyball Championship title.

After having conquered the court of the rivals in highly-intense Game 1, Lube materialized that at home, raising the level of play and earning the win with a much clearer result (3-0, partially 25:21, 29:27, 25:22) to go on 2-0 in the series. The only chance Perugia had to give intensity in the match was in the second set when they had a 14-10 lead. However, the team commanded by Gianlorenzo Blengini caught it up, but still had to reject two set balls of the rivals before converting their third.
Sunday, May 8, is the last opportunity for Perugia to reopen the series of the playoff finals, and they will have the support of their home supporters at PalaBarton.

Cuban Robertlandy Simón stood out again on the winning side, scoring 16 points (67% in attack, 2 blocks and 2 aces) while Luxembourger Kamil Rychlicki tallied 17 points for Perugia and he was top scorer of the match (68% in attack).
Among the winners, very good also Lucarelli with 69% in attack, 11/16.

About the match, it is a winning block from Anderson that give first break to Perugia, 6-8 in first set after a 2-0 Lube, earned with an ace by Zaytsev. However, the hosts level the score taking advantage from an error by Anderson, 9-9. Balance until 16-16, when another error from Anderson give Lube 17-16, and Yant made the difference with three points in attack, and Lube escape with the point of 21-17. Lucarelli,
put down the ball of 24-20, and set close at second set point, with a ball out from Plotnytskyi: 25-21.

Great start for Lube in second set with two aces by Zaytsev, 3-1, and a winning block is worth the 8-5. With Rychlicki and Mengozzi, on the field in place of Ricci, Perugia manage to level the score at 10-10, and then to surpass, 10-14, taking advantage from a Lube that give two attacks out. With Simon from the service line, author also of an ace, Lube react 15-16, and Anzani blocks Rychlicki. 22-22, then Rychlicki send out the attack that is worth 24-23. Anderson level the score, and then an error from Gabi Garcia cancel first two set points: 25-25. Leon cancel also third and fourth, but Yant don’t agree: he attacks the ball of 28-27, and then the ace on Leon for the 29-27.

Balance at start of third set 5-5, and then 8-8 with an ace by Zaytsev. Simon signs the +2, and Lucarelli also contributed with three points in attack, 15-12, and Perugia collapse: Anderson serves out, Leon attacks out the ball of 18-14. Other two points for Simon, and it is 20-16. Chiude Yant che, con Simon, è
uno dei migliori in campo. 25-22, and to close set and game is a very positive Yant.
