Austria: Hipo Tirol destroy Waldviertel in big match of Round 7. 3 points also for Hartberg and Aich/Dob

First part of Bundesliga Round 7 has been played today.

Hypo Tirol remains undefeated and to the top of the standings. The Innsbruck side won the big match against defending champions Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel, and they did it with a one-sided 3-0 (25:18, 25:16, 25:20). About titleholders, this was their third defeat in regular season in a row, and they are only sixth. The best scorers were Luan Weber on the winning side with 15 points and Marek Meciar (13) for Waldviertel.

SK Zadruga Aich/Dob achieved the seventh win in a row counting all competitions. The runner-up achieved a sovereign 3-0 (25:19, 25:21, 25:20) home win in a duel with VBC TLC Weiz. Top scorers of the game were Anastasios Aspiotis with 15 points among the winners, and Mark Kremer (21) for Weiz.

TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg also achieved a 3-0 win on their home court, beating UVC McDonald’s Ried 25:18, 25:16, 26:24. Ried defeated defending champions Union Waldviertel just a week ago, but they were not able to repeat their great performance in Hartberg too. Top scorers ot the match were Lukas Glatz and Dmytro Fedorenko (14 points each) on the winning side, and Markus Berger, Tomasz Rutecki and Borys Zhukov (10 points each) for Ried, who lost also second place due to the defeat.
This is now taken by Aich/Dob, while Hartberg is third.
